Aramid, also known as aromatic polyamide fiber, is mainly divided into meta aramid and para aramid. In the field of bulletproof, only para aramid (Kevlar) is used, which is the world's earliest large-scale commercial high-strength bulletproof fiber. With high strength and toughness, it has become the core substrate for soft bulletproof and composite armor, often used alone or in combination with bulletproof ceramics and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene for composite armor.

1、 Key Performance
2、 Bulletproof and energy absorbing mechanism
When bullets impact multi-layer aramid fabrics, the fibers are rapidly stretched, slid, layered, and broken due to the impact. The impact energy is dispersed from the impact point to a large area of the surrounding fabric, relying on the deformation of multi-layer fibers and friction between fibers to consume kinetic energy and prevent the bullet from penetrating; When paired with ceramics, the aramid backplate receives shattered bullet cores and ceramic fragments, controls backplate indentation, and reduces blunt injuries.
3、 All scenario bulletproof application
(1) Individual protection
1. Full aramid soft bulletproof vest
Multi layer aramid fabric is laminated and sewn, reaching NIJ IIIA level and national standard GA1~GA3 level. It can withstand 9mm handgun bullets,. 44 Magnum handgun bullets, and various explosive fragments. It is a standard soft armor for public security patrol, security, and border duty. Soft and close fitting, suitable for daily wear, without any hard protrusions.
2. Ceramic composite bulletproof plug board
99% alumina, silicon carbide, and boron carbide bulletproof ceramics are commonly backed with aramid or UPE. For mid to low end police plug plates, aramid sheets are often used to bond ceramics, forming a 'ceramic panel+aramid backplate' structure to achieve level III and IV rifle bullet protection; The advantage of aramid is its strong puncture resistance and superior ability to resist bayonets and sharp fragments compared to UPE.
3. Bulletproof helmet
Traditional military and police helmets are mainstream: the fiberglass shell is lined with multiple layers of aramid cushioning, and the aramid helmet is molded in one piece to defend against fragments and long-range bullets; At present, lightweight helmets are formed by composite molding of aramid and UPE.
4. Anti stab and bulletproof composite protective gear
Neck protection, crotch protection, tactical armor: The prominent anti stab advantage of aramid is the main material of stab resistant clothing, which is worn by military and police anti-terrorism operations, while also taking into account the resistance to dagger punctures and low-speed bullets.
(2) Vehicle mounted armor
Cash transport vehicles and special police explosion-proof vehicles: The compartment is filled with aramid UD composite panels, combined with alumina ceramic blocks to form composite armor, which can resist handgun bullets and close range fragments, and is lightweight instead of steel plates;
Additional lining for wheeled armored vehicles: aramid composite armor is installed on the inner side of the vehicle to protect against shell fragments and grenade fragments. It is commonly used for lightweight protection of command vehicles and logistics transport vehicles.
(3) Aviation and ship protection
Helicopter cockpit side walls and pilot seat protective lining: aramid has excellent flame retardant properties, making it less prone to melting and dripping during aircraft fires, and suitable for high temperature fire risk conditions onboard;
Ship control room and equipment compartment lining: In dry environments, aramid panels are used to resist shell fragments, and in wet dry alternating environments, UPE is often used in layered composite.
(4) Security engineering and special protection
Bulletproof booth, vault protective door, and shooting target blocking plate sandwich filled with aramid board; Explosion proof shelters and prison partitions adopt aramid ceramic composite structures, balancing lightweight and ballistic resistance.
